The Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, led by the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology in collaboration with the Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, conducted activities to present the outcomes of project implementation and exhibition, as part of the area's potential development project. This project aims to develop entrepreneurs in the southern border area into innovative business operators following the BCG economic strategy. The goal is to enhance the sustainable economic base of the area, supporting the development and expansion of model cities. The project focuses on developing entrepreneurs in the southern border area under the concept of "Developing People, Developing Entrepreneurs, Developing Technology and Innovation." The project covers three districts and twelve sub-districts in Songkhla province, specifically:
Jana District - Including the sub-districts of Ban Na, Na Tap, Talinchan, and Sakom.
Thepha District - Including the sub-districts of Pak Bang, Tha Muang, and Lam Phrai.
Sabayoi District - Including the sub-districts of Piang, Ban Nod, Ja Nae, Thung Pho, and Than Kiri.
The project involves more than 100 targeted area business owners who participated in activities and showcased their products at the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.
The event commenced with an opening ceremony and a presentation of the project's progress and outcomes by Asst. Prof. Udon Namsan,Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya. A special talk on "Developing the Area's Potential and Sustaining Economic Growth" was also delivered by Rear Admiral Chakkapong Aphimukdamrong, Director of the Civic Development Division, Southern Border Provincial Administrative Center. The event was attended by administrative officials, heads of departments, and participants from the Southern Border Provincial Administrative Center and related regional offices.
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya has been allocated a budget for the fiscal year 2566 to drive the development efforts in response to the challenges faced by the Southern Border provinces. The objective is to enhance the potential of the area by developing entrepreneurs under the innovative business strategy, in alignment with the BCG economic approach. This project supports the university's strategic development and aims to create sustainable economic growth from the grassroots level of the region. It aims to link the economic development of the province, groups of provinces, and regions, while creating a BCG business model with innovations that can generate value for products/services, create opportunities, distribute income, and contribute to local communities.
Furthermore, the event included a presentation of the project's progress and an exhibition showcasing the journey of developing entrepreneurs in the southern border area into innovative business operators following the BCG economic strategy. This presentation connected the project's objectives, outputs, outcomes, and anticipated results. Additionally, a panel discussion on "Developing Entrepreneurs in the Southern Border Area into Innovative Business Operators following the BCG Economic Strategy for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" was conducted, featuring representatives from departments within Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya responsible for implementing the project.
